Medicines and first aid

A 14-day medication buffer, refrigerated medicines and a simple first-aid kit.

Guide · 1 min read

Ask your doctor or pharmacist about holding a 14-day buffer of regular medicines. Never ration or share prescription medicines on your own. This guide is general education, not medical advice.

In Sakeena you can tick each step and see your progress. It stays on your device. Open it as a checklist

Do now

  • Write a list of every regular medicine, dose, and the doctor who prescribed it. Keep a paper copy and a phone photo.
  • Refill early so you always hold about 14 days extra, where rules allow.
  • Make a first-aid kit: bandages, dressings, antiseptic, tape, gloves, thermometer, oral rehydration sachets, tweezers and a printed guide.

Do within 15 minutes

  • Medicines that need a fridge (for example insulin): move them to a cool bag with ice packs and check the label for how long they can stay out.
  • Keep power-dependent medical devices charged and know their battery life.

Do in the first day

  • Take medicines at the usual times. If a medicine has been too hot or too cold, ask a pharmacist or doctor before using it.
  • For fever, diarrhoea or vomiting, give small sips of oral rehydration solution and seek care if it does not settle.

Do daily

  • Check expiry dates every three months.
  • Know your nearest hospital or clinic that stays open in an emergency and a second route to reach it.
